Yu-Hsuan (Sandy) Fu is an MFA student in Photography, Media, and Society at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and a Master’s student in Counseling Psychology at National Taipei University of Education (NTUE).
With clinical experience as a counseling intern in a psychiatric department, she integrates her psychological insights into her artistic practice.
Her photographic journey began at National Chengchi University (NCCU) and evolved through professional journalism into a personal exploration of the medium.
Bridging the gap between mental health and visual arts, Yu-Hsuan (Sandy) is particularly focused on the therapeutic elements of photography.
For her, the camera serves as a vital sanctuary for emotional processing, a way to anchor displaced feelings while living abroad. Through her lens, she meticulously pieces together her identity, inviting viewers to experience the world through a perspective grounded in empathy, clinical awareness, and self-discovery.
